Maureen Craighead

1944 - 2017 Danville On Nov. 27, the world lost the best wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend anyone could ever have. Maureen Carmela Craighead Baily died after a brave fight against Glioblastoma. Maureen was born in San Francisco in 1944 to Bryon and Carmela Craighead. Maureen grew up in Vallejo and had a truly blessed childhood. She was raised by two loving parents and loved to dote on and tease her younger brother, Byron. Maureen went to St. Basil's Grammar School, graduated from St. Vincent High School, and then attended Armstrong Business College.
  After graduation, Moe (as she became known), took on the business world as she spent time as a legal secretary for Shell Oil and then went on to work at Woodward Clyde. It was there that Moe met the love of her life and sole mate, Tom Baily. They bonded over their love of sports teams, dogs and hunting. Moe and Tom enjoyed 39 years of marriage. They were blessed with their beautiful daughter, Brooke Elizabeth on July 9, 1980. Moe loved her new career of motherhood and excelled at it. Moe will be remembered for her willingness to drop everything to help a friend or family member, for her constant upbeat attitude, and love of life personality.
  Moe is survived by her loving husband, Tom; daughter, Brooke (Joe) Cresalia; brother, Byron (Louise) Craighead; nephew, Jason (Monica) Craighead; niece, Jenny (Scott) Petritz and her beloved dog, Lucy. There will be a funeral Mass at St. Basil's Church in Vallejo on Saturday, Dec. 9, at 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made in Moe's name to the Berkeley Humane Society or the Guide Dogs for the Blind.
